Who Am I?

Julie graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from SUNY Cortland. She went on to earn a Master?s Degree from Connecticut College in Clinical Psychology with a Behavioral Medicine emphasis.  There she completed her Master?s thesis on Anger and Anxiety in Headache.  She began working as a research assistant in 1991 at the Veteran?s Administration Medical Center in West Haven, CT in the Pain Management Clinic. She later took on the role of project coordinator for multiple studies on the PTSD unit and then headed up a study comparing traditional primary care with psychiatry-based primary care in patients with psychiatric diagnoses.  Julie joined the Olin Center in April 2014 as a clinical research assistant for the REACH program, which enhances clinical services for children and adolescents with mood disorders.

Roles & Responsibilities

Under the direction of Dr. Michael Stevens, Julie works in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinics conducting clinical interviews and follow-up assessments, as well as assisting with recruitment and data management.  In addition, she has a role in secondary fMRI operation on studies examining teens with and without ADHD.  She also contributes to a study on Genotyping for Enhancing Depression Treatment in Child Psychiatry under the direction of Dr. Lisa Namerow.
