Who Am I?

Katie earned a B.A. in Psychology from Boston College in May 2011. At BC, Katie worked for three years as a research assistant in the Interdisciplinary Affective Science Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett. Her senior honors thesis examined the effects of language and cognition on perception and looking patterns of facial expressions of emotion. Katie also spent time volunteering on the inpatient psychiatric unit at Children?s Hospital Boston. Katie joined the Clinical Neuroscience and Development Lab in September 2011. Katie plans to pursue a career in clinical developmental psychology and neuroscience.

Roles & Responsibilities

Katie?s initial primary responsibility was acting as the research assistant for the Characterizing Two Distinct ADHD Neurobiologies fMRI research study. Her main responsibilities included neuropsychological assessment, secondary MRI operation, participant recruitment, data collection and management, and administration of diagnostic interviews for an adolescent population. Katie now has a range of responsibilities, including running the rTMS therapy study for teens with depression, designing and programming novel fMRI tasks, and neuropsychological and fMRI data analysis.
